Turkish Airlines recently celebrated its successful partnerships with more than 200 travel agents in Saudi Arabia. The event was attended by Yunus Demirer, ambassador of Turkish Republic in KSA, Adem Ceylan, VP of Turkish Airlines marketing and sales, Middle East; Ersen Engin, general manager of Turkish Airlines in Riyadh; and senior officials of Turkish Airlines in Saudi Arabia.
The occasion also celebrated the launch of Turkish Airline’s new banner ‘Widen Your World’ which has been adopted to express impressive progress made by the airline and highlight the strategic expansion program for the next few years.
Engin emphasized that Turkish Airlines has an ambitious plan to expand its fleet and operate at a higher frequency in the Kingdom in order to address the growing demand of Saudi travelers for its services.
“Currently we have 66 operations a week from Saudi Arabia and 14 flights between Istanbul and Riyadh. We are committed to considerably increasing this figure to cater for growing needs and expectations,” he added.
Turkish Airlines operates in seven cities in Saudi Arabia: Al Qassim, Dammam, Jeddah, Medina, Riyadh, Taif, and Yanbu. Operations to Al Qassim started in 2013 and the Yanbu route opened in 2012.
In Saudi Arabia, the airline witnessed a growth of approximately 95% in 2011, with a further 25% added in 2013.
