In an effort to enhance its telecommunications services, Turkish Airlines has renewed its multi-million dollar deal with SITA. The renewal will see SITA act as the airline’s sole network services provider globally for seven more years.

Ahmet Bolat, chief investment and technology officer of Turkish Airlines, said: “Our primary aim is to continue to upgrade and improve passenger experience. We have partnered with SITA for more than 15 years and are positive on the partnership.”

SITA will provide a variety of services ranging from IP VPN, which facilitates IP connectivity among the airline’s main hubs and virtual private network from anywhere around the world, and AirportHub, which provides network access through WAN communication and IT infrastructure at airports.

The airline witnessed a 23.6% growth in passenger numbers in comparison with 2012 and carried approximately 50 million passengers.
