Two Turkish Airlines staff have been kidnapped

Two Turkish Airlines crew members have reportedly been kidnapped by armed men in Lebanon while working on Beirut’s Airport Road.

The incident, which has been confirmed by both Turkey’s ambassador to Lebanon and Lebanon’s interior minister, was reported by news provider Al Jazeera.

The minister’s statement read: “A kidnapping operation took place at 3:00am targeting a bus carrying several members of a Turkish Airlines crew going from the airport to the hotel. Gunmen kidnapped two passengers from the bus, the pilot and co-pilot.”

Inan Ozyildiz, Turkey’s ambassador to Lebanon, released a statement confirming the details, adding that no ransom had been received for the men by either the embassy or Turkish Airlines.
