Absolute Hotel Services (AHS) has announced plans to bring its upscale U Hotels & Resort brand to a small island off the coast of Koh Samui.
The company has taken over the management of The Treasure Samui on Koh Madsum, which will now undergo an extensive renovation. Once complete, the resort will reopen in July 2015 as the U Koh Madsum Samui.
Located in the Gulf of Thailand, south of Koh Samui, Koh Madsum is a car-free island with unspoiled sandy beaches.
The new U resort will feature 37 villas, comprised of 16 sala villas, eight pool villas, eight tented villas, four beachfront pool villas and one two-bedroom beachfront pool villa. All units will feature private terraces or balconies and lounge areas, and resort facilities will include a spa, infinity-edged swimming pool, beachfront restaurant and bar.
And as with all U properties, the new resort will offer a series of guest-friendly amenities such as 24-hour room rental from the time of check-in, free Wi-Fi and breakfast served “anytime, anywhere”.
“We are very excited about this resort and it will be our first hotel in Samui managed under the U Hotels & Resorts brand. We are confident that our U guests will enjoy a unique island location plus our unique services,” said Jonathan Wigley, CEO of AHS.
U Koh Madsum Samui will become AHS’ ninth U hotel in Thailand and its 21st across Asia.
