UAE GCAA participates in ICAO General Assembly

The UAE, represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) recently visited Montreal to participate in the 38th session of the General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The reception gala was held under the auspices of HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE minister of economy and chairman of GCAA.
The event witnessed attendance from diplomats across 190 countries. The high-profile delegates were welcomed by HE Sutlan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, HE Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi. director general of GCAA, Laila Hareb, assistant director general strategy & international affairs, Capt Aysha Al Hamili, UAE permanent representative to ICAO, and a number of GCAA delegates.
HE Al Mansouri said: “UAE constantly seeks opportunities to extend bridges with the global international community. This is reflected in the theme we chose for this Assembly ‘Building the Future of Civil Aviation Together’.”
He further expressed the wish of the UAE to be re-nominated for membership of the new ICAO Council, category 3, in the elections to be held on 2 October 2013.
