In an effort to boost air traffic between two countries, the government of Philippines in Abu Dhabi recently inked a confidential Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Civil aviation Authority (GCAA).
The agreement will see enhanced frequencies between the two countries as there will be no restrictions for both passenger and cargo operations by the designated carriers of each sides in the UAE and in Philippines baring Manila. With regard to Manila, passenger frequencies will double in the near future for both Philippines and UAE carriers in order to keep up with the growth of air traffic between the two countries.
HE Omar Bin Ghaleb highlighted the importance of the memorandum in contributing to boost trade, tourism and investment between UAE and Philippines. The Memorandum was signed by HE Omar Bin Ghaleb, Deputy Director General of the GCAA and HE Atty Jose Perpetuo M Lotilla, Undersecretary, Department of Transportation & Communications of the Republic of Philippines.
