Universal Orlando unveils plans for Epic Universe park
Universal Orlando Resort will open a fourth theme park, Universal’s Epic Universe, on a 750-acre site a few miles south of its existing Florida parks.
Tom Williams, chairman and CEO of Universal Parks & Resorts said: “Epic Universe will be the most immersive and innovative theme park we have ever created. It will take guests on a journey where beloved stories expand into vibrant lands — and where that journey is as much a part of their adventure as the ultimate destination.”
The park site is south of Sand Lake Road and east of Universal Boulevard. Universal is investing USD 160 million to extend Kirkman Road to its new park location. The park will have hotels, shops, an entertainment centre and restaurants.
Universal Orlando currently operates three theme parks, seven hotels and Universal CityWalk, an entertainment and dining complex.
