US firm sells ads on airport security trays
Proving that humans nowadays are never free from the grip of the ad men, a company in the US has found a new piece of untapped advertising space – the plastic trays at airport security gates.
SecurityPoint Media and JCDecaux have announced plans to sell ad space on the security trays at Washington DC’s two airports – Dulles International and Reagan National. According to the company, a new special tray has been designed that features not only advertisements but also ID numbers so travellers can “better track their personal items when going through security”.
“Air travelers are highly educated, well connected and tech savvy professionals,” said Bernard Parisot, co-CEO of JCDecaux. “Since every traveller goes through security, these messages are highly-effective in delivering a tough to reach demographic.”
