Vietjet has confirmed plans to launch two new international routes from Ho Chi Minh City.
Commencing on 1 June 2016, the new HCMC-Kuala Lumpur route will operate daily, with flights departing at 0930 and arriving in the Malaysian capital at 1225. Return flights then take off from KL at 1300 and arrive back in HCMC at 1355.
Then on 22 June Vietjet will start flying to Tainan, on Taiwan’s southwest coast. The route will operate four times a week, with flights departing HCMC every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1045 and arriving in Tainan at 1500. On the return leg, flights leave at 1600 and arrive back in HCMC at 1815.
Vietjet operates all its flights using a fleet of all-economy class Airbus A320-series aircraft.
“The launch of the new routes is a latest development of our master plan to expand Vietjet’s operating network to Asia,” said Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Vietjet’s vice president. “With the routes, Vietjet expects to offer passengers more options for their aviation travel with affordable fares and joyful flights.”
The two new international routes will follow the launch of Vietjet’s latest domestic service, which will connect Hanoi with Phu Yen from 20 May.
