Vietjet has unveiled plans to launch three new routes to the Vietnamese port of Haiphong, following the opening of a new terminal at the city’s Cat Bi International Airport.
Over the course of the next two months, the low-cost carrier will add new services linking Haiphong with the southern resort island of Phu Quoc and two cities in Vietnam’s Central Highlands – Dalat and Buon Me Thuot.
Commencing on 12 May, the Haiphong-Phu Quoc route will be operated four times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays), and then from 20 May the new Haiphong-Dalat route run three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). Finally on 2 June, Vietjet will start offering four weekly flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays) between Haiphong and Buon Me Thuot.
All three new routes will be operated using Vietjet’s fleet of all-economy class Airbus A320-series aircraft.
Haiphong, which lies on the coast in northern Vietnam, is the country’s third most populous city after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Currently, Vietjet flies direct from Haiphong to Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Nha Trang and Pleiku.
