Vietnam’s new low-cost carrier, VietJet Air, recently launched a new service linking Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) with Danang.

The route, which marks VietJet’s entry into Danang, will be served twice a day using a new Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline has also launched a new sales office in Danang.

“VietJet Air’s new service to Danang will better help promote tourism, trading and investment into the city,” said Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Danang. “On behalf of the city’s authorities, I would like to show my gratitude at the carrier’s efforts to make this route a reality.”

VietJet Air launched in late 2011 and now operates a fleet of three new A20 aircraft. Having recently increased the frequency of its HCMC-Hanoi route to eight daily flights, it is now planning to launch a new service connecting Hanoi with Nha Trang. Flights on this route are expected to commence on 19 May.
