The inaugural Hospitality Investment Conference Vietnam (HICV) will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on 12-13 July.
Organised by Sphere Conferences and hosted by The Reverie Saigon hotel, the event will gather senior figures from the hospitality and real estate sectors to discuss the investment landscape for hotels in Vietnam.
Several key industry players have already signed up for the event, including C9 Hotelworks, Centara, Hilton, Jones Lang LaSalle, Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, Plateno Group, STR, Vina Capital and Wyndham.
“The events that we have launched in the hospitality sector have garnered encouraging results,” said Patricia Cheong, general manager of Sphere Conferences.
“The first two conferences of our Hospitality Investment series in 2016 concluded successfully in Manila and Jakarta earlier this year. We will continue to build on the success and develop the subsequent conferences in Ho Chi Minh City, Yangon and Colombo to become the mainstay events in their respective markets.”
Discussion topics at the two-day conference will include the investment climate and development outlook in Vietnam, hotel branding and design, contract negotiation, operator selection, the gaming sector, new destinations and golf courses.
Recent data from STR shows that hotel performance in Vietnam is on the rise, with nationwide occupancy at around 69%, average daily rate at US$130 and revenue per available room (revPAR) at approximately US$89.
