A new Vietnamese visa application centre is expected to open in India, under new plans revealed this week.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) revealed that the new office will be operated by Kuoni‘s visa specialists VFS Global. While details of the centre, including the location, have not been confirmed, VNAT said will discuss plans with the Vietnamese Embassy in India.

VNAT director-general, Nguyen Van Tuan, who met with VFS Global in Beijing last week, said that India is one of the most important markets of Vietnam’s tourism industry. In recent years, VNAT has organised series of promotional activities in India, and the tourism board will participate in PATA Travel Mart in Bengaluru next month.

It is also planning to conduct an event in Mumbai to promote tourism to Vietnam, which could include input from VFS Global.
