Vistara, the Indian start-up airline, has continued its rapid recent growth with the launch of flights to Kochi, in the southern state of Kerala.

The new route took off for the first time on Thursday 14 April 2016, and will now operate daily, direct from Mumbai. Flights will depart Mumbai Airport every day at 1310 and arrive in Kochi at 1520. The return flight then leaves at 1550 and arrives back in Mumbai at 1745.

The same aircraft will continue onwards between Mumbai and Delhi.

The launch of Vistara’s new southern route to Kochi follows the recent start of two new services to northern India, linking Delhi with Jammu and Srinagar. And from 2 May, the airline’s expansion will continue with the launch of flights to Chandigarh.

Once this phase of growth is complete, Vistara will fly to 16 destinations across India using its fleet of three-class Airbus A320 aircraft.

A joint venture between Singapore Airlines and Tata Sons, Vistara launched its first flight in January 2015.
