Windstar Cruises has unveiled details of its luxury yacht, the Star Pride.
The all-suite vessel, formerly operated by Seabourn, will be delivered to Windstar on 17 April 2014, marking the first of three refitted vessels to enter the company’s fleet. Work to transform Star Pride into a Windstar private yacht will commence in Barcelona following the handover.
“The planning for Star Pride’s transformation to Windstar’s unique private yacht style is nearly complete. Our enhancements include significant style changes and stem-to-stern upgrades,” said Hans Birkholz, chief executive officer of Windstar Cruises.
“The main theme is a casual elegant ambiance, with a warm contemporary style. The look and feel of the renovations will align with our sailing fleet.”
Windstar purchased Seabourn’s Pride, Spirit and Legend vessels last year. As the first vessel to be transferred, the Pride will be fitted with a range of new facilities including a top deck indoor observation called the Yacht Club, a new club venue called Compass Rose, an outdoor deck bar called the Star Bar, and a range of revamped restaurant concepts.
All 106 suites will be renovated with new soft furnishings and decor, while other new onboard experiences will include an ‘open bridge’, allowing guests to chat with the captain, deck barbecue evenings, and a range of watersports.
Following the renovation, the Star Pride is expected embark on its maiden voyage on 5 May 2014. From December 2014 it will be deployed in Asian waters, sailing three new itineraries including a 14-day voyage from Singapore to Hong Kong, a 10-day cruise from Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong, and a 10-day voyage to Singapore and the Malay Peninsula.
