Starwood Hotels & Resorts has opened its largest hotel – the 3,896-room Sheraton Macao Hotel Cotai Central.
Consisting of two towers overlooking the Cotai Strip, the new hotel is also home to the world’s largest Sheraton Club Lounge, a main ballroom the size of more than 11 basketball courts, more than 14,800m² of meeting space, three restaurants and three outdoor pools with poolside cafes. The opening coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Sheraton brand.

Opening in two phases, Sheraton Macao Hotel has initially launched the Sheraton Sky Tower, featuring 1,829 rooms, the 1,200m² Sheraton Club Lounge, Kashgar Grand Ballroom, the Link@Sheraton technology centre in the lobby, a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. The hotel’s second tower, the Sheraton Earth Tower, opens early next year and will offer an additional 2,067 rooms and two more outdoor pools.
The hotel is one of three properties located at Sands Cotai Central, along with the Conrad Macau and Holiday Inn Macau. Late last week, Sheldon Adelson revealed plans to add a further 3,000 hotel rooms to the complex as part of a new French-inspired extension, which will also feature a replica of the Eiffel Tower.
Sheraton currently operates 95 hotels in Asia Pacific and expects to reach nearly 150 hotels by 2016.
