Wyndham Hotel Group has signed a franchise agreement for a Ramada-branded eco-resort in Western Australia.
The 55-room Ramada Resort Eco Beach Broome is an environmentally-friendly upscale beachfront resort located just over an hour’s drive south of Broome, in the rugged Kimberley region.
The resort, which overlooks the Indian Ocean, is 70% self-sustainable, with solar power used to power the property and recycled water used to maintain the expansive landscaped grounds.
The resort’s eco-friendly practices extend to its rooms, which consist of solar-powered Eco Villas, safari-style Eco Tents and Beach Houses with low-flow shower heads and toilets.
“Ramada is recognised as a global leader in the hospitality industry, which means its name brings additional credibility to an already thriving local business,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia & Pacific Rim.
“The addition of this award-winning property to our brand portfolio presents us with an opportunity to step into new and exciting territories, expanding our offerings in desirable locations where people want to travel.
“Moreover, the resort’s focus on eco-friendly operations aligns perfectly with Wyndham Hotel Group’s commitment to sustainability: one of our key strategic initiatives that is focused on conserving resources and minimising our footprint in the communities where we work and live,” he added.
Resort amenities and services include an oceanfront restaurant, an infinity-edged outdoor swimming pool, conference and event space, complimentary yoga classes and a spa.
The signing of Ramada Eco Beach Broome becomes Wyndham’s 14th hotel in Australia, and the 10th operating under the Ramada flag.
