Wyndham Hotel Group has continued to expand its Chinese portfolio with the signing of three new upscale hotels.
The company has penned agreements for the 400-room Wyndham Sanya Bay on Hainan Island, which is scheduled to open in late 2015, the 200-room Wyndham Hainan Qingshui Bay Resort, also in Hainan, which will debut in 2017, and the 300-room Wyndham Grand Huangshan Taiping Lake, in eastern China’s Anhui province, which is scheduled to open in early 2019.
“The rapid growth of China’s tourism industry has created a heightened demand for hotels and offers huge potential for us to expand the presence of our brands in stunning locations country-wide,” said Leo Liu, Wyndham Hotel Group’s president & managing director for China.
“We expect significant growth for our upscale Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brand in emerging markets, especially in rising regional economic hubs, leisure locations and nature resort locations. The signings of these three hotels perfectly matches the growing market demand and offers enormous potential for property owners.”
The signings continue Wyndham’s recent growth in China, including the openings of the 232-room Wyndham Grand Shenzhen and the 390-room Wyndham Chongqing Yuelai.
The company now has approximately 900 hotels and more than 100,000 rooms in China, with more than 135 hotels and 26,000 rooms in the pipeline.
