Wyndham Hotel Group has opened its 500th property in the Asia Pacific region with the launch of the Super 8 Nanjing Shan Xi Lu in eastern China’s Jiangsu province.
Seven years after it celebrated its 50th property opening in the region, Wyndham’s portfolio now includes 500 hotels under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Ramada, Howard Johnson, Days Inn, Super 8, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham and Dream hotel brands. The company’s Asian inventory now stands at more than 70,000 rooms.
Wyndham attributed its rapid expansion to its franchising and management model.
“This is a tremendous achievement for Wyndham in Asia Pacific and we are very proud of our dynamic team, franchisees and partners who have made us the largest US-based hotel company in China,” said Frank Trampert, Wyndham Hotel Group’s Managing Director in Asia Pacific. “It is clear that our associates and our customers believe in us and in the direction we’re headed.”
