Wyndham Hotel Group has reached another major milestone in its Asian development, with the opening of the 100th hotel in its Southeast Asia and Pacific Rim region.
The landmark was reached this week when the company opened the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali, which also becomes the first Wyndham Hotels & Resorts property in Indonesia.
Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali is set on a 1.4-hectare plot of land on Bali’s east coast. The hotel features a total of 222 rooms, suites and villas, including options with private pools. Facilities include a restaurant, an outdoor pool with poolside bar, beach club, a thatched spa and large yoga deck.
“This is an exciting period for Wyndham Hotel Group as we accelerate our expansion and development plans with a focus on Southeast Asia,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia & Pacific Rim.
“Bali is one of the most popular resort destinations for regional and domestic travel, and has always seen tremendous interest from its source markets with 9.73 million arrivals in 2015.
“We saw Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali as an opportunity to showcase a novel side of Bali, where guests can immerse themselves in authentic local experiences and the best surf spots in the untouched eastern region,” he added.
Wyndham has opened 17 new hotels in the region this year, adding a total of 2,336 rooms. This has included the hotel group’s expansion into two new countries: Japan and Vietnam. And the company will continue to grow in future with a regional pipeline now consisting of more than 30 properties, the majority of which are due to open by 2020. These new hotels will add a further 8,776 rooms to Wyndham’s Asian portfolio.
This time last year Wyndham was opening its 1,000th hotel in China.
