X2, the Bangkok-based boutique hotel brand, has unveiled plans to enter the cruise sector.
Operated BHMAsia, the brand has now launched X2 Cruises on Bangkok’s Chao Praya River. Providing a luxury alternative to the Thai capital’s popular river and canal tours, X2 Cruises offers two-hour tours through Bangkok’s historic network of waterways.
Guests will be transported in a modern vessel that X2 says is “inspired by Venetian taxi boats”. The boat will be able to carry 14 passengers and features leather interiors, air conditioning, a refrigerator for drinks and a sliding roof for open-air sightseeing.
“Most people may think of Bangkok as a busy city with streets full of cars, tuk-tuks, buildings and malls, but actually Bangkok has other interesting sights. We see the lives along Chao Praya River and canals are one of them,” said Anthony McDonald, CEO & founder of the X2 brand, which is pronounced ‘Cross To’.
“As X2 is the new talk of the town lifestyle brand, we merged the modern design concept of X2 Cruises together with the ancient scenery along Chao Praya River. I’m sure it will give the Chao Praya River a welcome touch of luxury.”
In addition to the canal tours, X2 Cruises will also provide luxury private tours, sunset cruises and boat rental services, serving the needs of private customers, hotels and corporate events.
As part of its strategy to diversify across the luxury travel sector, X2 is planning to embark on new ventures in the spa, cruises, aviation and car sectors.
