Xiamen Airlines has started offering free in-flight Wi-Fi to passengers in the economy class cabins of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The airline rolled out the free connectivity service to business class passengers in December 2015, to coincide with the launch of its new flights to Sydney.
And following the success of this trial, the Chinese carrier has decided to extend the offering to economy class.
At present, four out of Xiamen Airlines’ fleet of six B787s provide Wi-Fi. This enables passengers on five of its key routes – Xiamen-Sydney, Fuzhou-Sydney, Xiamen-Amsterdam, Xiamen-Beijing and Fuzhou-Beijing – to go online free-of-charge.
