Xiamen Airlines will launch direct service from Wuyi Mountain to Hong Kong from 27 September, the first direct flight between the two regions.

The twice-weekly flight falls on every Monday and Friday and departs Wuyi Mountain at 18:10, arriving at Hong Kong at 19:40.

The return flight takes off at 20:40 and gets back to Wuyi Mountain at 22:10.

Wuyi Mountain, which features nepheline landforms, is the most famous mountain in south eastern Fujian province. The region is renowned for its Taoist sanctuary and is home to several Taoist temples and monasteries.

The new service connects two very different tourist destinations.
