The opening of high-tech Yamuna Expressway on 9 August is expected to benefit the tourism industry in Agra, Greater Noida and Delhi.

The new road will substantially reduce the travel time and distance between Agra and Greater Noida from four hours to two hours.

S M Azmat, Senior Joint President of Jaypee Hotels with properties in Agra, Delhi and Greater Noida expects the Expressway to make travel more convenient and boost overnight stays in both the cities. Citing similar opinion, Sunil Gupta, Director of Travel Bureau said, the much needed connectivity to the Taj city will improve by the new road and hopes that air links to Agra will also be revived.

The Yamuna Expressway has been developed by the Jaypee Group, which has recently opened the plush Jaypee Greens complex in Greater Noida.
