The annual PATA Travel Mart attracted more than 1,000 travel industry delegates to Bengaluru this week.
The event, which was held from 6-8 September at the Bangalore International Convention Center, gathered 456 Sellers from 266 organisations to meet with 242 buyers from 233 companies, with delegates coming to India from 61 countries.
As well as the main conference, the PATA Travel Mart included special pavilions for travel technology and responsible travel, the PATA Youth Symposium and a series of forums.
The Youth Symposium was organised under the theme ‘Human Resources Challenges and Opportunities for Tourism’s Next Generation’, and attracted more than 200 young tourism professionals.
“Over the years the Mart’s continued success has been due to its ability to continue to add further value for our delegates and members, while striking the right balance between quality and quantity for our registered buyer and sellers,” said PATA’s chairman, Kevin Murphy.
And it has been confirmed that PATA’s Annual Summit will be held in Sri Lanka in 2017. The event, which include a one-day conference, board and committee meetings and the association’s AGM, will he held at the Jetwing Hotel in the coastal city of Negombo, following a successful bid by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau.
