The latest industry appointments

TAN CHOON KWANG has been named as the new chief operating officer of Meritus Hotels & Resorts. A seasoned hotelier, Tan has more than 30 years of expertise in Singapore, France, Japan, Australia, UK and USA, including spells with Swissotel, Raffles and Starwood Hotels.

SUNNY LI has been appointed as Rosewood Hotel Group’s new vice president of development for China. Based in Shanghai, he will now source management agreements and investment opportunities for the Rosewood, New World and pentahotels brands. He has 30 years’ experience.

THOMAS HAHN has been announced as the new senior vice president of operations for Dorsett Hospitality International. Hahn joins the Hong Kong-based hotel group with more than 25 years of experience, most recently as IHG’s vice president of operations for Central China.

IAN ALEXANDRE has been named the new general manager of the Conrad Beijing. Alexandre joins Hilton Worldwide from Sofitel, where he held the position of vice president for the Pacific region. Prior to this he worked for Sofitel Wanda hotels in China. He has 28 years of experience.

DAMIAN BALL has been announced as the new regional general manager of Onyx Hospitality Group’s new Ozo-branded hotels in Sri Lanka. An Australian national, Ball has 21 years of hospitality experience and will now oversee the Ozo Colombo, Ozo Kandy and Ozo Galle properties.

ANDREAS SUNGAIMIN has taken the role of senior vice president of human capital & development with Pan Pacific Hotels Group. Based at the company’s headquarters in Singapore, Sungaimin will focus on developing the company’s leadership talent. He previous worked for Raffles Hotels.

PAUL CUTLER has been appointed sales & marketing manager of the Nanuku Resort & Spa in Fiji. He will now handle all international sales & marketing activities for the new all-villa boutique resort. Cutler’s experience includes spells with Le Méridien and Shangri-La Hotels.
