Virgin Atlantic has announced it will add a fourth daily service between Heathrow and New York’s JFK this October.
The airline carried more than half a million passengers on the route last year and will add the fourth service on 28 October following its success. It will operate with an Airbus departing Terminal 3 at 7pm arriving at New York 10pm, while the returning flight will leave JFK at 8am to arrive in London at 8pm.
“We have managed to grow our customer numbers across the Atlantic in the face of increased capacity and bigger airline alliances,” said Steve Ridgway, chief executive of Virgin Atlantic. “We are confident that this additional service, combined with our recent product enhancements, will enable us to continue to increase our market share into New York as we offer our award winning product and service to even more customers”.
Virgin Atlantic has also developed its Clubhouses at JFK and Heathrow in recent months.
