Garuda, China Airlines join forces
Garuda Indonesia and China Airlines (CAL) have signed a new agreement covering joint passenger and cargo operations.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed in Bali on Thursday between Garuda’s President & CEO, Emirsyah Satar, and CAL’s President, Huang-Hsiang Sun, will cover a range of areas including codesharing on routes between Indonesia and Taiwan.
The two carriers will codeshare on routes connecting Taipei with Jakarta, Bali and Surabaya, as well as services to international destinations including Los Angeles, San Fransisco and Dubai.
The airlines will also offer reciprocal rewards for members of their respective frequent flyer programmes.
Garuda is due to join CAL in the SkyTeam alliance early next year.
