Hapag- Lloyd announces 2013/2014 expedition cruises

Hapag-Lloyd has revealed it will offer 12 expedition cruises onboard its ships in the 2013/14 season.
Destinations onboard its Bremen and Hanseatic ships include Alaska, Spitsbergen, the Northern Passage, the Amazon and the Chilean Fjords.
Two 18-day Antarctica itineraries from Buenos Aires on 13 February 2013 and 9 January 2014 are included in the programme, as well as a 26-day Semi Circumnavigation of Antarctica voyage from Ushuia, Argentina to Bluff, New Zealand on 25 January 2014.
Three itineraries will be available in the South Pacific including a 15-day New Zealand voyage; 17-day itinerary in Australia, Caledonia and Fiji and a 22-day cruise from Manila to Fiji.
The line will also operate an Inside Passage, Alaska cruise from Nome, Alaska to Vancouver aboard the Bremen in June 2013 and Spitsbergen, Iceland and Greenland itinerary with the Hanseatic. The latter ship will also sail the Northwest Passage route across 24 days to discover Inuit culture.
Other cruises in the programme include a one-off 16-day sailing on the Amazon River from Peru to Brazil; a Chilean Fjords itinerary and a South America voyage.
Both ships are well equipped for travel in difficult waters, holding the highest ice class ranking for passenger vessels (E4) and can enter waters that larger vessels cannot reach. Onboard experts including a team of experienced scientists, expedition leaders and specialists will guide landings.
