Bristol departures a success for CMV

Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ new Bristol departures have proved a hit with customers with Mondays its busiest booking day, the line has told Cruise News UK.
The cruise line launched its Bristol Avonmouth departures last week and already more than 200 people have booked onto its ‘The Land of Northern Lights’ cruise on 15 March next year. It is the first line to depart from the western UK port since 1992.
“Our feedback also shows that a convenient departure port is a key factor hence our plans for Bristol,” said Chris Coates, commercial director at CMV on the decision. “We will be exploring new horizons in addition to our perennial favourites and taking our passengers to many of the places not always accessible by the larger resort ships”.
The cruise line’s promotional ‘ Saver Fares’ that offer early booking savings of as much as 25%, as shown in Travel Daily UK, are now available on all bookings made by 31 July 2012. CMV said its busiest day for bookings has been Mondays in recent weeks, with Saturday the busiest day at weekends.
Meanwhile, CMV has confirmed three new additions to its sales team as part of its continued growth programme.
Tricia Regan joins as interim general sales manager with responsibilities for the company’s retail, multiple and consortia partnerships plus the tour operator market. She will work with Lisa Jacobs, CMV’s national sales manager.
Wayne Beard becomes business development manager for Northern England and Scotland and Ryan Inman the business development manager for South West England & Wales.
Michelle Daniels, the line’s current sales manager will be leaving the company to go on maternity leave and is scheduled to return to the company in the new year.
