Qantas to offer in-flight iPads
Qantas will begin offering iPads as the in-flight entertainment option on its fleet of domestic Boeing 767s.
Following a trial earlier this year, the ‘QStreaming’ concept will now be offered on all B767s, with passengers in all cabin classes given iPads pre-loaded with entertainment content including movies, games and TV shows.
“Following the successful trial of our QStreaming service this year, we will partner with Panasonic and use their eXW solution to provide over 200 hours of on-demand IFE content via iPads to every passenger in business and economy travelling on our B767 fleet,” confirmed Lyell Strambi, CEO of Qantas Domestic.
“QStreaming will be available free of charge to all our passengers across the B767 fleet. We’re now looking at ways to evolve this technology platform even further with our partner Panasonic to bring new standards of in-flight entertainment to our customers,” he added.
The first aircraft equipped with the new IFE system is set to roll out in the fourth quarter of this year, mainly operating on east coast routes and to Perth.
