It has been reported that Carnival Cruise Lines is rolling out a programme of passenger ‘perks’ similar to those in operation by airlines where, for an additional fee, customers can pay for speedy boarding, early cabin availability and express luggage delivery amongst other advantages.
For US$49.95 per cabin – regardless of how many each cabin sleeps – passengers can join the ‘Faster To The Fun’ programme which gives many of the advantages normally awarded to Carnival’s frequent cruisers.
The scheme is to be introduced for voyages on both the Carnival Imagination, setting off on 20 August; and the Carnival Liberty, which begins its cruise on 25 August.
Carnival’s current loyalty programme gives passengers a status based on how cruise days they’ve spent with the line – Platinum level, 75-199 days; and Diamond level, 200 plus – these customers will be given the extra perks, given to the ‘Faster To The Fun’ customers, free of charge.
The programme will be run on a capacity basis.
