Drukair connects Singapore with Bhutan

Travellers will soon be able to travel faster between Singapore to Bhutan, following the launch of a new flight by Drukair – the Himalayan kingdom’s national carrier.
A special inaugural flight from the Bhutanese city of Paro landed at Singapore’s Changi airport this afternoon (28 August 2012), carrying HRH Princess Chimi Yangzom Wangchuck of Bhutan. The scheduled Drukair flights between Paro and Singapore, via Kolkata, commence on 1 September 2012.
The new flight means that travellers can journey between the two countries in just six hours, saving an overnight stay in either India or Thailand. Flights will operate twice a week, leaving Singapore on Thursdays and Sundays, and returning from Bhutan on Wednesdays and Saturdays. All flights will use Drukair’s brand new Airbus A319 aircraft.
