Air Canada to hire hundreds of new staff
Air Canada has unveiled plans to hire at least 900 employees over the next 12 months.
The recruitment drive will include the addition of 200 flight attendants and pilots for the airline’s new low-cost carrier, which is being launched in 2013.
“Air Canada is undertaking a selective hiring process over the next 12 months in order to seize new commercial opportunities, enhance customer service and renew our workforce. This recruitment programme is consistent with our focus on controlling costs to become more competitive in our various markets,” said Calin Rovinescu, Air Canada’s President & CEO.
In addition to the LCC recruits, Air Canada will also hire a further 60 call centre staff in Montreal and Toronto, approximately 400 mainline flight attendants, and 500 permanent, part-time and full-time airport customer service staff and baggage handlers to be based at airports across Canada.
Air Canada’s low-cost carrier will be hiring approximately 150 flight attendants and 50 pilots for its launch in 2013.
