United Airlines has completed the installation of flat bed seats and personal in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems) on all its long-haul international aircraft.
The premium cabins of 183 aircraft operating on long-haul routes have now been equipped with United’s Global First and United BusinessFirst cabins, offering a combined total of more than 7,000 flat-bed seats, all of which recline 180 degrees. United has also equipped the jets with on demand IFE systems, and is in the process of rolling out in-flight Wi-Fi.
The airline expects to have more than 200 aircraft fitted with internet services by the end of the year.
“Global business travellers know how important it is to arrive to their destinations well-rested, and United can meet that need better than any other airline,” said Jeff Foland, United’s executive vice president of marketing, technology & strategy.
United recently launched a new turndown service for first class passengers on long-haul flights, while all premium passengers also receive a multi-course meal with wine.
