The latest industry appointments

MARK DeCOCINIS has been appointed President & Chief Operating Officer of One&Only Resorts, the luxury brand owned by Kerzner International. DeCocinis has more than 25 years’ experience and most recently was Executive Vice President at Shangri-La International.

PAUL CHONG has been announced as Carnival Asia’s new Vice President of Business Development. He arrives at the cruise line following nearly 13 years with Banyan Tree Hotels, where he was responsible for the group’s global business development efforts.

JOHN TAKER has been announced as GTA’s first ever Vice President of Beach Sourcing. Taker has a career spanning almost three decades and arrives at the wholesaler from Virgin Holidays, where he served as Purchasing Director. He will be based in London.

MATTHEW GILLESPIE has been appointed as Tanoa Hotel Group’s new Regional Manager for Fiji and Samoa. He assumes this newly-created role having spent the last three years working as General Manager of the Tanoa International Hotel at Nadi Airport, Fiji.

GINDO SIANTURI has become General Manager of the U Paasha Seminyak Bali. An Indonesian national, Sianturi graduated from hotel school in Switzerland. He has since worked with several luxury hotel brands including Oberoi, Raffles and Four Seasons.

SUMANTH DAS has been appointed Culinary Director at the Pan Pacific Singapore. Previously the Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Jakarta, Das will now be responsible for planning and implementing new culinary concepts at the Singapore property.

CIARA McCARTEN has become the new Resident Marine Biologist & Earth Check Coordinator at the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. In the role, Ms McCarten will monitor the local marine environment and educate guests, staff and local villagers on how to preserve it.

PARASHURAM PATHAK has been named as the new Executive Sous Chef at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, Queensland. Chef Parashuram moves from his previous role as Sous Chef at InterContinental Sydney, and has also worked at the InterContinental Dubai.

ALEX BARNETT has joined the Radisson Blu Hotel Sydney as Marketing Communications Manager. He arrives at the 336-room hotel with extensive knowledge of the Australian media, having spent several years working with Australian Traveller Media.

SABINE KAISER has been appointed as Focus Asia’s new Senior Sales Manager for Germany. A German national, Ms Kaiser joins the company’s Munich-based team after working for more than five years with a tour operator specialising in Asian destinations.
