Garuda Indonesia will increase the number of flights it operates to Singapore next month.

The Indonesian national carrier currently operates a daily service between Singapore and Bali and four weekly flights between Singapore and Surabaya. But from 27 October 2013, Garuda will boost both routes, with the addition of a second daily flight from Bali and three more weekly flights to Surabaya, taking the routes’ total frequencies to twice daily and daily respectively.

All the extra flights will be operated using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

“Indonesia is an important regional business and leisure hub and passenger traffic to the country continues to grow. There is a lot of potential to connect Singapore with more Indonesian destinations and it is a natural step for Garuda as the national flag carrier to meet this strong demand,” said Nicodemus Lampe, Garuda’s vice president for Asia. “With the newly added flights, we hope to provide our passengers greater convenience and flexibility when planning their trips.”

Following the addition of the new flights, Garuda will operate more than 90 weekly flights to Singapore from four Indonesian destinations – Bali, Jakarta, Balikpapan and Surabaya.
