Kempinski is expanding in the populous Yangtze River Delta region of China, with the launch of its first hotel the city of Yixing.
Located in eastern China’s Jiangsu province, close to Wuxi and Suzhou, Yixing has a population of more than 1.2 million. And now local residents and visitors to the city will be able to sample the European luxury of the Kempinski Hotel Yixing.
Set on the city’s Lake Tai, the hotel offers 446 rooms and suites ranging from 40-397m². All rooms will include flat-screen LCD TVs, walk-in rain showers, separate bathtubs and high-speed internet access, as well as automatic curtains and a high-tech lighting systems. The rooms also offer views of the lake, while guests on the executive floors (57-59) will also be offered access to the executive lounge.
The hotel will feature several F&B outlets, including the YuanYuan Chinese restaurant and the 60th floor Elements restaurant, which offers 360-degree views. Le Chai will also become the first European-style wine bar in the city. Other facilities at the hotel include an indoor swimming pool with views of Lake Tai, plus sauna and steam rooms and an outdoor terrace.
The Kempinski Hotel Yixing becomes the company’s 19th hotel in China, and marks the latest phase in its nationwide expansion. Following the recent launch of a second Kempinski property in Shanghai, the company is set to open in Beijing in 2014.
