Rosewood Bangkok will open in 2017

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has signed its first luxury hotel in Bangkok.

Scheduled to open 2017, the Rosewood Bangkok will be located on Ploenchit Road in the centre of the city, and will be directly linked to Ploenchit skytrain station.

The 146-room, 33-storey property will include two restaurants and bars, a spa, swimming pool and a fitness centre. Meeting facilities will include The Pavilion – a residential-style function space and the top-floor Sky Villa. The guestrooms will include a range of 64m² pool sky villas, which will feature large terraces and private plunge pools.

“As one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, Bangkok is a key strategic location for Rosewood to further strengthen its foothold in Asia,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group. “We are delighted to… add Rosewood Bangkok to our acclaimed collection.”

The Bangkok property marks the latest stage of Rosewood’s international expansion. The US-based luxury hotel brand was recently bought by Hong Kong-based New World Hospitality, and has since announced plans to double its portfolio within five years.

This expansion started this month with the launch of the Rosewood London, and will be followed by the opening of the Rosewood Beijing in early 2014. Then in 2015 new Rosewoods are expected to open in Dubai, the Bahamas, Phuket and Chongqing, while the Rosewood brand will enter Indonesia in 2017, with new hotels planned for both Jakarta and Bali.
