Success in Dubai is turning JA Resorts and Hotels’ eyes to international markets as demand for its current properties has soared.
The group has seen reservations go up 82% year-on-year for its five properties in Dubai in what has been a busy 12 months for the group. This started with a rebrand from Jebel Ali to JA in October 2012 and a 69% increase in capacity through the renovation of the JA Palm Tree Court and opening of the JA Ocean View Hotel.
The group’s first foray outside the UAE, Enchanted Island Resort, will open soon in the Seychelles but JA’s chief operating officer David Thomson has hinted at further international growth.
“This is a really exciting time for the brand and the most recent figures are testament to the hard work put in by our employees. The developments in 2012 were always going to be a challenge, but we have a fantastic team who ensured disruption to the customer experience was kept to an absolute minimum,” he said.
“Dubai as a destination has grown phenomenally in recent years. We’re confident the ethos behind our UAE portfolio will create a much sought after resort in the Seychelles and could even reach other areas of the world.”
