China Airlines (CAL) has formed a new partnership with Taiwan Tourism Bureau, adorning one its aircraft with a special promotional livery.
The repainted Airbus A330-300 aircraft made its first flight earlier this week, from Taipei to Tokyo, carrying the bureau’s message of ecology, romance, cuisine, shopping and culture. Following the inaugural flight to Japan, the aircraft will be deployed on routes to Taiwan’s other key tourism markets, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and China.
The new livery includes several images of Taiwanese tourism, including dancers performing in front of the National Theatre, fireworks at the Taipei 101 tower, the scenery of Sun Moon Lake, the annual Lantern Festival and the endangered Formosan black bear.
Taiwan welcomed a record 7.3 million international visitors in 2012, and expects to reach eight million this year. The Taiwan Tourism Bureau then hopes to welcome 10m arrivals by 2016.
