Anthony Drury has joined easyJet in a newly-created role of director of business. Drury joins the airline from America Express where he had held several senior roles since 2002. He will lead easyJet’s business strategy across Europe.
Rosemarie Fernández has been announced as the new marketing director for the UK & Ireland at Amadeus. Fernández joins the technology firm on 1 February and will be responsible for marketing and communication strategies across all channels. Before joining Amadeus she worked at the Institute of National Research.
Kate Holroyd has joined World Travel Holdings (UK) as head of marketing for its cruise brands. Holroyd spearheaded the launch of Cruise118.com’s Cruise Plus campaign this month and will also work on RiverVoyages.com. SixStarCruises.co.uk and CheapCruises.com. She has previously worked at Fairpoint Group and Thomas Cook.
Charlie Bateson has been named as the new director of product and commercial at Abercrombie & Kent. Bateson previously held roles at Trailfinders and Page & Moy but joins A&K from Best at Travel. He starts his new job on 10 February.
Giacomo Battafarano has been named as the new general manager of the Hotel Xenia in London’s Kensington. Battafarano was previously at the Hotel Imperiale Taormina in Sicily for five years and has also worked for Starwood, Le Meridien and Exclusive Hotel Collection.
Vivek Badrinath has joined Accor as deputy CEO. Badtinath’s appointment will be effective from 1 March where he will resume responsibility for marketing, digital solutions, distribution and information systems. His previous roles includes time at Orange, Thomson India.
John O’Sullivan has become the new managing director of Tourism Australia. He joins the tourism board from Fox Sports, where he is currently employed as chief operating officer. He previously served in executive positions with Events Queensland, including a spell as CEO from 2010-2012.
Dr Murray Mazer has been named as the new head of innovation & research for Amadeus. Formerly vice president of software engineering & distributed development at Endeca Technologies, Dr Mazer will now lead the R&D department at Amadeus from the company’s Boston office.
Bill Hanbury has been appointed CEO of the Bermuda Tourism Authority. Hanbury joined the head office this week with 25 years of management experience including four years as CEO of United Way of the National Capital Area.
Manoj Papa will become the new CEO of Air Seychelles, following the resignation of Cramer Ball. Papa joins from South African Airways, where he held the position of acting general manager of commercial. He previously had a spell with Etihad Airways, which owns a stake in Air Seychelles.
Dr Rashid Al Ghailani has become the new chief officer of human resources for Oman Air. An Omani national, Dr Al Ghailani went to university in the US and UK, before commencing a career in diplomatic service. He joins Oman Air from Takamul Investment, where he was GM of corporate affairs.
