Jet Airways has announced the expansion of its codeshare partnership with Air France.
The partnership will offer enhanced network connectivity to 12 major cities across Europe and the United Kingdom. The new code share flights open for sale from today (2 April) and will be available for travel effective 14 May 2014.
Gaurang Shetty, senior vice president for commercial at Jet Airways, said, “India and Europe share strong ties, ranging from leisure and business tourism to commercial trade. With this expanded code share agreement, we will be able to offer our guests wider access, unmatched connectivity and seamless travel to key markets across Europe, with France’s premium airline.”
Citing similar opinion, Tjalling Smit, senior vice president for Middle East, Gulf and India at Air France-KLM, “As a first step of the cooperation in summer 2013, Jet Airways offered Air France new domestic destinations in India via code share. It paved the way for this next step. Through the code share expansion on Air France flights, Jet Airways is now granted access to European cities they currently do not serve. I am fully confident that this extension, based on the complementarities of our respective networks, will be successful in the fast growing market between India and Europe.”
The code share between the two airlines will expand Jet’s network to the below destinations:
– Nice, Lyon, Marseille, and Toulouse in France
– Barcelona and Madrid in Spain,
– Hamburg in Germany,
– Prague in the Czech Republic,
– Dublin in Ireland and
– Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle in United Kingdom
