Hainan Airlines will launch a new service to Paris from Hangzhou, the capital of eastern China’s Zhejiang province.
The launch of the new route comes amid the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Paris, which is being marked this year.
The new route, which is a first for any carrier in the world, will be operated twice a week, with departures every Thursday and Sunday.
Flights will depart Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan International Airport at 2115, arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 0735 the next day. From Paris, the return service will take off at 1425, getting back to Hangzhou at 1105 the next day. The service will operate with a stop in Xi’an, the capital of northern China’s Shaanxi province, on both legs of the journey.
Hainan Airlines will operate the route using a two-class Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 36 seats in business class and 186 in economy.
Paris will become Hainan Airlines’ fifth destination in Europe, following Berlin, Brussels, Moscow and St Petersburg.
