New ship for CMV announced

Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) has announced it will add another ship to its fleet in 2015.
Azores will replace Discovery as its second ex-UK vessel operating alongside the Marco Polo next year.
The new ship will operate year-round sailings from Bristol Avonmouth from 26 January and will also sail from Hull and London Tilbury with itineraries including a 30-night trip to the West Indies; a ‘Solar Eclipse & Northern Lights’ cruise and a Scottish themed Edinburgh Festival itinerary.
“Azores is an excellent, upgraded addition to our cruise fleet and has been affectionately and very well maintained by her Owners. We are confident that Azores will prove to be a real winner with our dedicated growing number of loyal customers and will also attract new clients seeking smaller ship alternatives and regional ex-UK no fly cruise options,” said CMV’s commercial director Chris Coates.

Azores is a beautiful ship and has been operating very well in achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.”
The ship has been chartered by Lisbon-based Portuscale Cruises with crew and ship management handled by CMV. It was re-built in 1994 for US$150m with 85% of its 277 cabins having an ocean view.
CMV’s preview brochure for 2015 will be released tomorrow with details on Azores’ programme as well as Marco Polo and Astor.
