Accor has opened a new ibis hotel at Aerocity, the commercial precinct near Delhi International Airport.

ibis Delhi Airport becomes brand’s ninth hotel in India and the largest to-date, with a total of 316 rooms, all with flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.

Guests will be offered a range of facilities, including a heated swimming pool, gym, three meeting rooms able to accommodate to 150 guests, and a restaurant that is open throughout the day, and which serves breakfast from 4am to midday.

The hotel will also provide a free shuttle service to and from the airport.

“We are delighted to open ibis Delhi,” said JB Singh, president & CEO of Accor’s Indian partner, InterGlobe Hotels. “The hotel is strategically located in Aerocity and well-connected to Delhi and the commercial hubs of Gurgaon and Noida.

“InterGlobe Hotels aims to address the gap in the availability of hotel rooms in the mid-market segment and continue to raise the bar of its product offerings through constant innovation. The hotel design is modern, contemporary and efficient. This hotel recognises the need of the emerging traveller and adheres to international levels of service, safety, comfort and hygiene,” he added.

Accor now operates nine ibis hotels in India, but this portfolio is expected to more than double to 19 hotels by 2016.
