Virgin Hotels heads to the Big Apple

Virgin Hotels has announced an opening in New York as it gears up for its debut next month.
The company has partnered with developer Lam Group and VOA Architecture for the new hotel, which is due to open in 2017 on the corner of 30th Street and Broadway.
Above retail space the hotel will have 475 rooms including some suites, with facilities including restaurants, a rooftop bar and outdoor pool.
“We are ecstatic to partner with Lam Group and VOA to bring New Yorkers a dynamic new hotel that’s aesthetic will be completely unique to the hotel scene, yet functional and intuitive for everyone,” said Raul Leal, CEO of Virgin Hotels. “The property will be a ground-up development designed to support business and leisure traveller’s needs and wants, while providing an active spot for locals.”
Building work is due to commence next month, just as the brand’s first property is due to open in Chicago. An opening in Nashville is also planned in summer 2016.
Sites are also being inspected in cities including London, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco and Washington DC.
