Maldivian, the national carrier of the Maldives, will continue its expansion in China next month with the launch of flights to three more destinations.
According to a notice on the airline’s website, flights from Male to Changsha, Xi’an and Nanjing, the respective capitals of Hunan, Shaanxi and Jiangsu provinces, will all commence in February 2015.
All the new routes will be operated using Maldivian’s fleet of 152-seat, two-class Airbus A320 aircraft.
These new routes will add to the airline’s existing routes to Chengdu and Wuhan. Maldivian also flies to the Indian cities of Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai, and Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
China now contributes approximately 30% of all international tourist arrivals to the Maldives.
