Singapore Airlines has unveiled a series of new products and services for passengers in Hong Kong.
The airline has upgraded and relaunched its SilverKris Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport, as well as unveiling a range of new in-flight offerings on the routes from Hong Kong to Singapore and San Francisco.
“Hong Kong is a significant market for Singapore Airlines,” said Benjamin Chan, SIA’s general manager for Hong Kong. “For 57 years, we are committed to provide Hong Kong travellers the best travel experience, whether they are on business trip or holiday-going.
“The two new introductions today also demonstrated our confidence in the full service premium air services in the Hong Kong market,” he added.
The new SilverKris Lounge at HKIA is part of SIA’s multi-million dollar investment programme to upgrade all of the company’s airport lounges around the world.
Featuring separate sections for first and business class travellers, the lounge includes new kitchen, living room and shower areas, plus “productivity pods”, SIA’s new custom-made armchairs and the ‘Taste of Singapore’ menu, which features local dishes such as laksa and drinks including the Singapore Sling.
In terms of cabin upgrades, the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft deployed on SIA’s Hong Kong-San Francisco flights and some Hong Kong-Singapore services will now feature a new range of products.
These include a new in-flight entertainment system with larger screens and touch-screen handsets, plus new flat-bed seats in first (208cm long) and business class (198cm long) and more legroom in economy.
The new aircraft will initially be deployed on three weekly Singapore-Hong Kong-San Francisco services, gradually increasing to daily as more aircraft enter service.
