The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) will open its new visitor centre this week.
Set in a two-storey Peranakan-style shophouse in the Emerald Hill area of the city, the new Singapore Visitor Centre (SVC) will offer an expanded range of services, including the sale of arts and entertainment tickets, tours, accommodation and attraction bookings, plus a retail area for locally-designed souvenirs.
The new centre will also make use of technology, with free Wi-Fi, two large screens displaying information on local places and events, and four interactive information kiosks that allow visitors to create personalised itineraries.
“The new Singapore Visitor Centre aims to be a one-stop service and information touch-point that adds to visitors’ overall experience in Singapore,” said STB’s director of visitor experience & capability development, Choo Huei Miin.
“We hope that, through the effective use of technology coupled with personalised and warm assistance provided by our customer service officers, visitors will have a better understanding of what Singapore can offer and be inspired to explore and uncover our many hidden gems.”
The new SVC will officially open on 17 February, replacing the current centre located at the junction of Cairnhill Road and Orchard Road.
